A TV program produced by the client showing the Intelitek "Global classroom".
From this global classroom, on line classes in Mechatronics can be delivered to many students in dispersed centers thanks to TrainNet e-Learning system.
ORNL is a multiprogram science and technology laboratory managed for the U.S. Department of Energy by UT-Battelle, LLC. Scientists and engineers at ORNL conduct basic and applied research and development to create scientific knowledge and technological solutions that strengthen the nation´s leadership in key areas of science; increase the availability of clean, abundant energy; restore and protect the environment; and contribute to national security.
ORNL is using the proLIGHT™ 3000 CNC turning cente as well as the Benchman® 4000
An interesting CNC application-A modified ProLight 1000 CNC milling machine is used for isolating micro-specimens from osteonal and interstitial regions of human cortical bone. An eccentric mill bit is used to core out specimens from these small regions. The system identifies a region of interest with a microscope and then moves it under the eccentric mill bit for coring.
