Photography has become a widely-used medium for communication and entertainment, especially in the wake of the digital revolution. Digital photography has made taking pictures easier, faster, and more automatic than ever before. With this in mind, the Digital Photo Editing course focuses on procedures for editing and manipulating digital photographs. The heart of the course is the use of freeware graphic design software to explore basic editing techniques and tools. More complicated processes are introduced later in the course as students familiarize themselves with photo manipulation. By course completion, students will have a workable knowledge of the following processes:
Saving image files
Cropping and resizing images
Using brush, painting, dodge, and burn tools on an image
Using layers to edit parts of an image separately from the rest
Editing one part of an image using selection tools
Adding and subtracting color from an image
